Mechangelo
Mechangelo is an autonomous prototype robot created to paint walls in indoor and outdoor environments.
Autonomous Painting Robot
Mechangelo was designed using SolidWorks software and its mechanical structure was built with laser cut MDF wood. The robot was equipped with a paint spray gun nested in an elevation system, distance sensors to help the robot to maintain a certain distance from the wall while painting and four mecanum wheels in order for the robot to move without changing its orientation.
Shell Live Wire
In 2019, my business partner (Gustavo Duarte) and I created a Startup called i9Bot. Our focus was to develop mobile robots that could paint walls and ceilings autonomously and offer robotic painting services to companies/customers. We participated in the Shell Live Wire startup competition, where we won second place for most innovative idea. Unfortunately, due to the COVID-19 pandemic we were forced to drop the project but it was an insightful experience nonetheless.
